H1N1 Swine Flue radio commercial

OK I just have to vent a bit on this. Today I listened to a commercial over the radio. This guy says his name is Bob and admits that sometimes he does not wash his hands after using the bathroom and he's admitting this apparently in front of some clients, co-workers, employees - ? They all say, "ug - ew - yuck - ah!" Then he coughs and admits that he has come to work today sick and the crowd again jeers at his confession - almost in fear. Then a calm professional female radio voice comes on saying, "please get the H1N1 vaccine this flu season". So they are comparing those who refuse the swine flu to those who don't wash their hands and who come to work sick and cough on their co-workers? Low. They must be getting desperate to make money off this vaccine.

Un-natural: birth control pills = early abortions

Some quotes from the article (see link below to read entire very informative article regarding birth control pills as abortive).

"The Pill is used by about fourteen million American women each year and sixty million women internationally. Thus, even an infinitesimally low portion (say one-hundredth of one percent) of 780 million Pill cycles per year globally could represent tens of thousands of unborn children lost to this form of chemical abortion annually. How many young lives have to be jeopardized for prolife believers to question the ethics of using the Pill? This is an issue with profound moral implications for those believing we are called to protect the lives of children."

"Dr. Walt Larimore has told me that whenever he has presented this evidence to audiences of secular physicians, there has been little or no resistance to it. But when he has presented it to Christian physicians there has been substantial resistance. Since secular physicians do not care whether the Pill prevents implantation, they tend to be objective in interpreting the evidence. After all, they have little or nothing at stake either way. Christian physicians, however, very much do not want to believe the Pill causes early abortions. Therefore, I believe, they tend to resist the evidence. This is certainly understandable. Nonetheless, we should not permit what we want to believe to distract us from what the evidence indicates we should believe.

I have mentioned my own vested interests in the Pill that at first made me resist the evidence suggesting it could cause abortions. Dr. Larimore came to this issue with even greater vested interests in believing the best about the birth control pill, having prescribed it for years. When he researched it intensively over an eighteen-month period, in what he described to me as a "gut wrenching" process that involved sleepless nights, he came to the conclusion that in good conscience he could no longer prescribe hormonal contraceptives, including the Pill, the Minipill, Depo-Provera, and Norplant."

Monkey Business - new vaccine study

"A new study in the leading scientific journal NeuroToxicology lends further credence to parents and scientists concerned about an increasingly aggressive childhood vaccine schedule and toxic vaccine components. A team led by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh found that infant macaque monkeys receiving a single Hepatitis B vaccine containing the mercury-based preservative thimerosal underwent significant delays in developing critical reflexes controlled by the brainstem. The infant macaques that did not receive vaccines developed normally."

Scientific Link to Autism Identified :)

"If it hadn't been for so many parents insisting that vaccines were responsible for the condition, we might never have found the fact that the stabilizer in MMR and a few other vaccines is hydrolyzed gelatin; a substance that is approximately 21% glycine. It appears that, based on readily verifiable science, the use of that form of glycine triggers an imbalance between the amino acid neurotransmitters responsible for the absorption rate of certain classes of cells throughout the body. It is that wide-spread disruption that apparently results in the systemic problems that encompass the mind and the body characterized in today's 'classic' autism." He also added, "The use of our model indicates each of the disorders within Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is attributable to different disruptions in homeostasis. We look forward to sharing our findings relative to each disorder with the scientific community."

So they are saying that an ingredient in almost all (if not all) vaccines may be responsible for disrupting a balance in the body/brain that can lead to Autism spectrum disorders but also notice that is says that "Disorder (ASD) is attributable to different disruptions in homeostasis." which means that it's not just one source (not just vaccines) that can cause the disruption which explains why some children develop ASD who are not vaccinated.

Gee what a "surprise" - not.

More than 100,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine are being withdrawn across the country, after Manitoba health officials announced Thursday they'd noticed a higher-than-usual number of allergic reactions from one batch.

Vitamin D prevents cancer!!!

This is a GREAT article on new evidence that vitamin D and calcium can really help to prevent many cancers - reducing the cancer risk as much as 77%! That's an amazing thing to find out! I've already been reading about the effects of vitamin D (and deficiency of it) on the immune system. What an important nutrient! It was warm enough yesterday to take the kids out (yes in mid-November) all of us wearing tank tops and shorts and walk for 4 miles in the bright warm sun that God gave us which is also the best and most natural way to get vitamin D into your body (your body actually makes it).

The start of the Healthy Thought Spot

I've decided to start this blog for a number of reasons. I'm a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, a wife of 7 years to a wonderful man, and stay at home mother of two beautiful children. I've always tried to do the best I can do. I have a drive for it - some may say I'm a perfectionist. I fiddle with things until they are as good as I think I can get them - at least until I've had more sleep! Yes I'm a lot like Martha and often need to be more like Mary, as in the story in the Bible. Especially after marriage and children I have researched and thought and prayed about ways to help me and my family stay healthy and use our "tents" - these bodies where our spirits temporarily dwell - to their fullest. It has not happened overnight. I find that when God changes someone - sometimes He does it one step at a time. That's how it seems to be unfolding for me. We give up this and start doing that and before you know it we are a family who practices attachment parenting, loving discipline (and "reality discipline"), regular workouts, nutrition, natural remedies, natural family building (fyi: no birth control), purging harmful substances from our environments like toxins and chemicals (including vaccines), cloth diapering, extended breastfeeding, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, and simplifying our lives - one step at a time. Many of these things we feel strongly about because we feel a conviction of the Holy Spirit to go in a specific direction for our family. We want to encourage other families whom God is speaking to in regard to these types of things as well. We encourage all believers to be open to however God might want to lead you and we encourage those who do not consider themselves Christians to open their mind and heart to what God might show them of His might, power, healing, grace, mercy and love. This blog is not here to judge those who may have differing opinions or who have made decisions for their person and family contrary to what we feel is good. In fact partly why I have started this blog is because our family's view on natural health and natural living is very far removed from many of our friends and family's mainstream views and some, I feel, do not wish to see my facebook page, roll their eyes and think, "she's at it again - posting the guru health freak all natural stuff". So I thought it might be nice to still have a place to put all the information I come across or that is shared with me as well as my ongoing thoughts on various subjects related to health and natural living. I may still share one thing here or there on my facebook or other social networks but I think I will be mostly using this place - my "Healthy Thought Spot" - as a safe place to post my thoughts, feelings, scientific studies, ideas and discoveries. - Rachel
