Bed Sharing

When I found out I was pregnant I told my husband there is one particular thing I'd like to invest in: a co-sleeper bassinet. Both of our children bed shared with us. With Nathanael there was no room for a playpen so we put the bed against the wall and on the other side put up an extra long bed rail. It worked out just fine. Most of the time he slept in the crook of my arm or between myself and the rail - especially if my hubby had just come off of a long shift. We were extra cautious and as a breastfeeding mom I was very aware of my baby's every breath and movement. With Arielle we had a pack n play bassinet because we just felt cramped sometimes - like we needed a larger bed to fit all three of us - but she hated it and would often wake up if I tried to gently lay her in it. I hated it too because it was a pain to lift her in and out of. A co-sleeper bassinet is basically an extension of your bed but allows the baby to be in his or her own little space if mommy wants to stretch out or if the couple needs some bonding time. And yet baby can easily be scooped up to nurse and stay in mommy's arm crook until and unless mommy wants to scoot baby over a bit to the co-sleeper.

Here's an article about co-sleeping and particularly about bed sharing.

I'm pregnant!

That's right! I am pregnant after years of being unable to naturally conceive, expensive treatments, a miscarriage, a healthy pregnancy and birth, a surprise all natural conception and all natural home-birth, now we are so blessed to be expecting another surprise baby! Thanking God!

Electromagnetics and Autism?

http://electromagnetichealth.org/media-stories/#Autism

While it seems so many professionals are claiming one specific thing is "THE" cause of Autism - it is interesting to note that many factors seem to make a difference or raise the risk of Autism development in children. This seems to be one of them. When you consider that higher amounts of electromagnetic exposure to a person effect calcium levels especially - and the other links to vitamin D deficiency and Autism (and vitamin D and calcium levels have a lot to do with each other and their function in the immune systems and such). Very interesting.

Electromagnetic fields

Cell phone towers, wi-fi connections, wireless home phones, cell phones, microwaves, etc....
are we being bombarded by electromagnetic fields that are causing genetic, physical, emotional, biological and psychological problems? Are some people more sensitive to these things than others?

"The good news is that your body can, to a degree, defend itself from these types of radiation damage. It does so by pumping surplus calcium out of your cells, and by activating certain enzymes that protect your DNA, and by making heat shock proteins to protect enzymes.

The bad news is that in doing so, your body becomes fatigued, and the more it has to defend itself, the worse your health will fare. Eventually, it can start interfering with your metabolism; impair your immune system; and lower your resistance to disease and cancer.

Last but not least, EMF exposures have a sensitizing effect, so you will become more and more sensitive over time."

I encourage you to check out and listen to this lady's speech and watch her video. Here's the link for more info on this issue: link

What can we do? According to this article:

"Fortunately, you are not completely helpless. There are strategies that can help reduce your exposure and protect your health against the constant onslaught of radiation.

First and foremost, you’ll want to reduce your exposure to as many sources as you can.

For my latest list of safety tips and guidelines on how to reduce your exposure, please see this previous article.

In addition to my recommendations, Camilla Rees mentions a few more in her video above, including:

  • Intestinal care – mainly by making sure you’re getting plenty of healthy probiotics. The Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland discovered that symptoms of electrosensitivity can be reduced by providing gut barrier support. For more information, listen to the interview with Dr. Rau, medical director of the Paracelsus Clinic, available at this link.
  • Regular detoxification programs – Reducing your toxic burden has become far more important than it ever was before. Not only are you dealing with increasing amounts of toxic chemicals in your environment, your body is full of microorganisms that respond to EMFs by generating increased levels of their own toxins, according to a course for physicians on this subject, taught by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, MD.
  • Beware of mold – Mold, just like other microorganisms, can also react in high EMF environments. One study showed 600 times more neurotoxins generated from mold in a high EMF environment. According to Rees, there are also mold legal cases being reviewed, assessing if problems in buildings infested with mold may have actually been related to nearby antenna infrastructure."
